The former head of Israel's Mossad spy agency has warned against launching a war against Iran, saying any attack on Tehran by Tel Aviv would result in a “regional war.”
"It is important to know what the outcome of an attack on Iran would be, what would happen on the day after and what situation Israel would find itself in on the international stage," CNN quoted Meir Dagan as saying on Thursday.
"An attack on Iran would mean regional war,” stressed Dagan, urging Israeli officials to “consider all options and not to run straight for the war option.”
The former Mossad chief said Israel has made no decision to attack Iran, and added, “I am not familiar with any decision to attack in 2011 or 2012."
In May, Dagan said any Israeli aerial attack against Iran's nuclear facilities a “foolish” measure.
