Tribute Post: Pakistan’s 46th Defence Day

On September 6th 2011, Pakistan’s armed forces staged a display of 
their capacities in the main cities as they celebrated Defence Day, a 
commemorative day of the war fought against neighboring India in 1965.

September 6 is marked to pay tribute to valiant soldiers, who died fighting for the defence of country.

The day dawned with the recitation of Quran in all the main mosques of the country and special prayers were offered for the souls of the martyrs.

Pakistan Air Force cadets presented the Guard of Honour and hoisted the national flag while a change of guard ceremony which was held at the mausoleum of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah.

Air Vice Marshal Hassan Raza offered prayers at the mausoleum.

Meanwhile, a change of guard ceremony was held in Lahore at the monument of Allama Muhammad Iqbal where a wreath laying ceremony was carried out by Major General Zafar Iqbal.
