Pakistani girl sets world records in fastest chess setup


Lahore: A Pakistani girl on Sunday set a new world record in fastest chess setup during the Punjab Youth Festival 2012.
Mehar Gul, the 12-year-old girl, has setup a complete chess in 45 seconds to set a world record. The adjudicators of Guinness World Records (GWR), who were also present during the event, have also confirmed the record.
Earlier, Taekwondo Black Belt holder Ahmad Amin Bodla also broke the world record for the most number of martial arts kicks by hitting 616 kicks in three minutes while  another youngster Noman Anjum set a new world record in plug wiring by compling his task of plug wring in 35 seconds.
On Saturday, thousands of Pakistanis sang their way into the GWR by singing their national anthem in unison at the festival.

Peshawar boy kicks his way into Guinness World Records


LAHORE: Ahmed Bodla set a new world record on Sunday for kicking 617 times in three minutes, Express News reported.
Hailing from Peshawar, 19-year-old Bodla kicked a punching bag 617 times and was observed by the Guinness World Record team, which declared him successful.
The victorious record breaker, while speaking to the media revealed that his knee was injured and bandaged but despite the injury, he wanted to compete for the title.
“India keeps challenging us on social media websites like Facebook and it’s a good thing that are competing with them,” said Bodla.
He dedicated his victory was one for all Pakistanis.
He said, “I guarantee that the next time I will make a better record.”
Athletes and participants from different cities have gathered at Lahore Expo Centre today in order to attempt breaking 13 records, followed by Saturday’s triumph of setting a world record of singing the national anthem simultaneously.
As many as 44,200 Pakistanis sang the national anthem together at the National Hockey Stadium in Lahore, breaking India’s record.

Lahore: The opening ceremony of the Punjab Youth Festival 2012 saw thousands of students as well as audience created a world record of singing the Pakistan national anthem during the event on Saturday.
The formal record beating singing started after the arrival of Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif and officials of Guinness World Records.
Two-member team of the Guinness World Records was also present in the National Hockey Stadium to witness the expected record-breaking number of athletes, volunteers, students and guests.
The crowd kept chanting slogans of Pakistan Zindabad and Allaho Akbar.
Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif was also present in the stadium.
