50 Lessons you should learn before it's too late.

  • You’re stronger than you think you are.
  • Mistakes teach you important lessons.  Every time you make one, you’re one step closer to your goal.
  • There is nothing to hold you back except you.
  • You can press forward long after you can’t.  It’s a matter of wanting it bad enough.
  • No matter how much progress you make there will always be the people who insist that whatever you’re trying to do is impossible.
  • You are limited only by your own imagination. Let it fly.
  • Perception is reality.
  • Your instincts can be trusted.
  • There is only one question to ask yourself: “What would you do if you were not afraid?”
  • It’s often hard to tell just how close you are to success.
  • The only mistake that can truly hurt you is choosing to do nothing simply because you’re too scared to make a mistake.
  • Never let success get to your head, and never let failure get to your heart.
  • You have to fight through some bad days to earn the best days of your life.
  • Life is 10% what happens to you and 90% how you react to it.
  • Do what you love, not what you think you’re supposed to do.
  • Laughter is the best medicine for stress.  Laugh at yourself often.
  • If you want to feel rich, just count all the great things you have that money can’t buy.
  • Forgiving yourself is far more important than getting others to forgive you.
  • If you awake every morning with the thought that something wonderful will happen in your life today, you’ll often find that you’re right.
  • Be nice to yourself.
  • For the most part, it doesn’t matter what people think.  Follow your own truth.
  • No education is wasted. Drink in as many new experiences as you can.
  • Making one person smile can change the world.
  • Don’t forget to enjoy your journey!
  • You never know how strong you really are until being strong is the only choice you have.
  • Sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together.
  • You cannot change what you refuse to confront.
  • Crying doesn’t indicate that you’re weak.  It doesn’t always solve your problems either.
  • No matter how many mistakes you make or how slow you progress, you are still way ahead of everyone who isn’t trying.
  • Life isn’t about waiting for the storm to pass, it’s about learning to dance in the rain.
  • You can learn great things from your mistakes when you aren’t busy denying them.
  • Give up worrying about what others think of you.
  • When you stop chasing the wrong things you give the right things a chance to catch you.
  • You have to accept that some things will never be yours, and learn to appreciate the things that are only yours.
  • As Henry Ford put it, “Whether you think you can or you think you can’t, you are right.”
  • Don’t be afraid to move out of your comfort zone.  Some of your best life experiences and opportunities will transpire only after you dare to lose.
  • Giving up doesn’t always mean you’re weak, sometimes it means you are strong enough and smart enough to let go.
  • You’ll rarely be 100% sure it will work.  But you can always be 100% sure doing nothing won’t work.
  • Don’t dwell on the past or worry about the future for too long.  Right now is life.  Live it.
  • No matter how cautiously you choose your words, someone will always twist them around and misinterpret what you say.  Just say what you need to say.
  • Not getting what you want is sometimes a wonderful stroke of good luck.
  • If you are passionate about something, pursue it, no matter what anyone else thinks.  That’s how dreams are achieved.
  • If you keep doing what you’re doing, you’ll keep getting what you’re getting.
  • What lies before us and behind us are tiny matters when compared to what lies within us.
  • Don’t pray when it rains if you don’t pray when the sun shines.
  • It’s not about getting a chance, it’s about taking a chance.
  • If it were easy everyone would do it.
  • Be vulnerable.
  • A problem is a chance for you to learn.
  • Regardless of the situation, life goes on.

  • Mother poisons her 4 year old daughter to get more facebook likes.

A four-year-old girl from the Gold Coast remains seriously ill at the Royal Children’s Hospital after allegedly being poisoned by her mother.

Police allege her 22-year-old mother began feeding her daughter in June last year with chemotherapy drugs reportedly bought over the internet.

The woman was charged with grievous bodily harm on Wednesday and appeared in a Brisbane court on Thursday.

A Gold Coast girl who was allegedly poisoned by her mother.
She did not apply for bail, and will remain behind bars in police custody until her next court appearance next month.

Her arrest came after an investigation by South Eastern Region detectives and the State Crime Operation Command’s Child Safety and Sexual Crime Group.

A police spokesman said the investigation was brief, lasting about one week from the time it was brought to the attention of authorities.

According to News Limited reports, the mother had been publishing details of her daughter’s condition on social media, creating a Facebook page dedicated to daughter which was followed by 7000 people.

The page is said to include photos of the young girl, including images of the girl lying prostrate in a hospital bed, covered in bruises and without her hair.

Her baldness came about after she underwent a bone marrow biopsy and suffered an upper intestinal bleed, blood in her urine, and rapid weight loss which lead to the application of a nasogastric tube late last year, the mother reportedly wrote on Facebook.

Doctors had previously cleared the girl of leukaemia after her mother brought her to hospital in February last year, saying her daughter had begun bleeding from the gums, was bleeding in “uncommon places”, and had developed a “meningitis-like rash”.

The mother reportedly returned to hospital with her daughter in November after the bruising returned, leading to the biopsy and a diagnosis of severe aplastic anaemia.

The condition can be inherited, but it may also stem from exposure to chemicals, drugs, radiation and infection.

Thursday’s court hearing lasted less than two minutes. The woman will appear for a further mention via prison video-link on May 20.

Angelina Jolie pledges $200,000 for girls’ education in Pakistan.

Angelina Jolie paid glowing tribute to the Pakistani teenager who was shot by the Taliban for advocating for girls’ education, introducing Malala Yousafzai to the Women in the World summit via a new video from Britain.

“Today I’m going to announce the happiest moment of my life,” the 15-year-old said, at one point shyly covering her face with her hands. She said a new school in Pakistan would be built for 40 girls. “Let us turn the education of 40 girls into 40 million girls,” she said.

Jolie committed $200,000 to the new “Malala’s Fund” for girls’ education in Pakistan.

Malala was already known for her activism when she was shot in the head in October by Taliban attackers angered by her outspokenness in a deeply conservative society.

    She was brought to
Britain for treatment, including skull reconstruction. She was released last month and has started attending school there. She was shortlisted for Time Magazine’s “Person of the Year” in 2012 and recently signed a deal to write her memoir.

“Here’s what they accomplished,” Jolie said of Malala’s attackers. “They shot her point-blank range in the head - and made her stronger. The brutal attempt to silence her voice made it stronger.”

Jolie, a special envoy for the U.N. refugee agency, said Malala’s father had shown his daughter in the hospital a poll that said she was the sixth most influential person in the world, and that President Barack Obama was seventh. But the teen said she didn’t think people should be categorized like that.

“So we can learn a lot from this girl,” Jolie said with a grin.

Jolie was not the only Hollywood star on the stage at the conference. Meryl Streep was there to honor another activist, Inez McCormack of Northern Ireland, who died in January of cancer. At the first Women in the World summit three years ago, Streep had played McCormack in a short play, called “Seven,” with McCormack watching from the audience.

The conference continues on Friday, with a speech by former U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton and appearances by Oprah Winfrey, Eva Longoria and Tom Hanks.

The evening began with a dance performance by Michaela DePrince, who grew up as an orphan in war-torn Sierra Leone, where her father was killed and her mother starved to death. She was adopted by a U.S. family and now dances with the Dance Theater of Harlem.

Reporter Mistakenly Interview Imran Khan (Actor) Instead of Imran Khan (PTI Chief) | Interview Script

New York based CNN correspondent, Julia Whitehead, who was supposed to interview Pakistani cricketing legend turned politician, Imran Khan, ended up interviewing Bollywood actor Imran Khan instead under a case of mistaken identity. Julia had been recently assigned to the South Asian bureau and is working on an upcoming article on politicians from the sub-continent. Unfortunately, her knowledge of Bollywood, Cricket and South Asia in general is very sketchy, which led to her interviewing the wrong Khan. An Indian colleague had casually mentioned that Imran Khan was in New York shooting for a movie and the unsuspecting Julia promptly scheduled an interview with him before he left. Bollywood Actor, Imran Khan, in turn gladly agreed to the interview hoping it would fetch him some publicity and enhance his image with Indians living in America.

Here are excerpts from the fox interview that CNN kindly shared :
Julia: Thank you Mr. Khan for agreeing to the interview. Must say, you look quite young for your age. What is the secret of your youthful looks?
Imran (slightly taken aback): er… thanks. I work hard to pass off as a 22 year old although I am 28. Good sleeping habits, exercise and healthy diet do the trick for me.
Julia (giggling): Mr. Khan, your sense of humour is delectable… For a fast bowler, you have quite a small build and frame. How did you manage to be successful in your sporting career despite being so puny?
Imran (blushing): You yanks have a very weird sense of humour. Er… my cute looks and puny frame help bowl maidens over, you see. Hopefully, I will continue to maintain a good strike rate going forward also.
Julia (now laughing hysterically): I was told that Cricket is a sophisticated sport that we Americans will never be able to understand. I can see why now. On a serious note, how easy was it to make the transition to full time political activism?
Imran (raises his eye brows quizzically): er… I am not really a full time activist. I sometimes take a stand on issues of dubious public interest such as filing a
PIL against increasing the legal age for drinking mainly to garner some publicity and increase my star value.
Julia: Wow, you advocate that drinking should be legalized? Mr. Khan, you realize that your life can be in danger for taking such a bold and extreme stand…
Imran: Hmm… now you are scaring me. Why would anyone want to kill me for taking such a stand? This is India for heaven’s sake, not Pakistan.
    Julia (confused): er…but aren’t you a Pakistani?
    Imran: Hell no!!
Julia: Huh? Wait a minute, aren’t you the famous cricketing legend Imran Khan who won the World Cup for Pakistan in 1992?
(Imran, whose ears slowly begin to turn scarlet, just stares at her)
Julia (still confused): Well then, who are you?
(Imran opens his mouth in indignation, but no words come out. He abruptly stands up and walks away leaving a confused Julia behind)
